Dear faithful Stewards and Friends of the Greek Orthodox Parish of Hunterdon County,

I joyfully greet all of you with the words of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ which constitute His promise to all who would labor ceaselessly in establishing a Greek Orthodox Church and Community so that His Name may be glorified unto the ages of ages.

The Greek Orthodox Parish of Hunterdon County, although one of the newest and youngest Communities established under the spiritual jurisdiction of His Eminence, Metropolitan EVANGELOS of New Jersey, is very grateful for the manifold blessings that we have received from above over these past few years. We are currently holding Divine Services at the Allerton United Methodist Church for which we are certainly most appreciative and we are actively pursuing property on which to build our Holy Church and to spiritually nurture our Orthodox Faithful in the tenets of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

The time has come for our ever-growing Community to take the next step and we intend to take it together – with everyone’s enthusiastic and financial help as well as everyone’s heartfelt prayers and unwavering dedication to proclaiming our Orthodox Faith and Hellenic Heritage for many generations to come.

The Capital Campaign Packet which you are holding is key to the success of this noble and sacred work. Even more critical and essential, is your personal contribution toward this labor of love. Included in this Packet is a Capital Campaign Commitment pledge card. As you consider your pledge, I humbly ask that you do so in light of the words of our Lord, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)

Your Capital Campaign Commitment is a testimony of your dedication to enhancing your personal spiritual life as well as ensuring that of our precious children. I thank you on behalf of the Greek Orthodox Parish of Hunterdon County, regardless of the amount of your gift of love, and wish you and your family all of God’s bountiful blessings of which we are inheritors of. For indeed, as St. John Chrysostom, Patron Saint of our Holy Metropolis reminds us, “God protects and loves the charitable and philanthropic person.”
