 Parish Events 2008

  • Second Annual St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival 
    March 21 - 8:30pm
    The Festival starts immediately the Salutations Service at the Allerton United Methodist Church. If your child is in grades 7 through 12 and would like to participate, please see Father George, Meropi Martini, or Cathy Sakellos.
  • Spring General Assembly 
    March 30 - 11:30am
    The parish council presents the state of the parish, as well as the latest update of the property purchase and capital campaign. A Lenten luncheon will be served, and the Greek School students will hold a presentation celebrating Greek Independence.
  • GOYA Spring Retreat 
    April 4-6

  • Greek Independence Day Parade - NYC 
    April 6 - 11:00am
    The charted bus will leave at 11:00am from the Allerton United Methodist Church. The cost is $12.00 per seat. First come, first serve. Hurry, spots are filling up. Please Zoi Kaldes for more information.
  • Annual Greek "OPA" Festival 
    May 3-4  
    Save these dates so you do not miss out on the Biggest, Fatest, Greek Festival in the state. This is our parish's fourth annual Greek Festival. The outdoor/indoor event is at Razberry's Banquet and Conference Hall, Route 12, Flemington, NJ. We serve the best Greek food and pastries (all homemade), party out to great Greek Music and Dancing, and offer games and events for all the kiddies. Do not miss this spectacular event.   • Wine & Dine 
    May 17 - 7:00pm
    The annual Wine & Dine, hosted by George and Christi Staikos. Residents wine expert George Staikos and Published Greek Cook Book Author John Kaldes combine forces to present a Spanish-flavored event. For more information, please contact Christ Staikos at cstaikos@patmedia.com.
  • Annual Parish Picnic 
    September 6 - 1:00pm - 4:00pm
    Join us for our Sixth Annual Parish Picnic at Mine Brook Park, Flemington, NJ for an afternoon of hot dogs, hamburgers, desserts, and fun and games. Meet our parishioners and learn about our community and faith. For more information, call Bill Panageas at 908-246-7526.
  • GOYA Dance Troupe Performs at Shea Stadium 
    September 7 - 8:00pm
    Dancers from GOPHC perform at Shea Stadium, Flushing, NY, prior to Mets-Phillies baseball game, 8:05. For more information, contact Eva Kubu at evangelinek1@comcast.net
  • Holy Cross Celebration 
    September 21 - Orthros - 8:30am; Divine Liturgy - 10:00am
    All Greek Orthodox churches in the Metropolis of NJ celebrate the Divine Liturgy at Paramount Theater, Asbury Park, NJ, followed by the "Dive for the Cross" and family barbecue. For more information, call Father George Nikas at 908-301-0500

    September 22 - 5:30p - 7:00pm

  • Sixth Annual Dinner Dance 
    November 1 - 7:00pm
    The GOPHC knows how to throw a dinner dance. Join us Razberry's Banquet and Conference Center, Route 12 between Flemington and Frenchtown. - New Dinner Dance Journal - Early Bird Ad Incentive: Download Form Here. Parishioners who turn in a paid Ad by the early-bird date of October 12 will be entered in a drawing for a $100 Gift Card for ShopRite, Flemington. One raffle entry per paid ad. Please remember to note your name as

  • Annual GOPHC General Assembly 
    November 16 - 11:30am - 1:00pm
    Annual GOPHC General Assembly - come, listen, speak out, participate. Listen to reports on the state of the parish - annual budget, update on land purchase, and nominate parish council candidates to fill seven seats for the 2009 year. Youth Programs
 
Greek Language Classes

The Parish offers Greek Language classes from 5:30pm to 7:00pm every Monday at the Patrick McGahren School (Clinton Twp) for children K through 12. Please call Education Director Nikki Connell at (908) 238-1596 for more information.


Greek Folk Dance Classes
 
The GOPHC offers Greek Dance Classes for Youth:
Grades K-2 and Grades 6 & Up
